Weather Update (02nd June)
A Western Disturbance is present as a cyclonic circulation over northern Pakistan and adjoining regions of Jammu and northern Punjab. The trough at mean sea level from central parts of East Uttar Pradesh to Arunachal Pradesh across central parts of Bihar, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, central parts of Assam has become less marked. Meanwhile, the trough at mean sea level extending from central parts of East Uttar Pradesh to Arunachal Pradesh, passing through central Bihar, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and central Assam, has weakened Northwest India: Light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds (40-50 kmph), is likely in Jammu-Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, and Delhi for the next three days. Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan will see light rainfall during this period. Thundersqualls could bring wind speeds of 50-60 kmph, gusting up to 70 kmph. Isolated dust storms are also expected in West Rajasthan. Northeast India: Expect light to moderate rainfall over the next seven days, with heavy downpours anticipated for the next five days. Drain out excess water and ensure proper drainage in the rice nursery beds, fields of chilli, okra, and other vegetables. East & Central India: Light to moderate showers will persist over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim for the next week. Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, and Odisha will experience rainfall over the next two days. South Peninsular India: Several areas, including Kerala, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Coastal Karnataka, will experience light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds (40-50 kmph) over the next two days. Odisha is expected to experience hot and humid conditions starting in two days, with the weather persisting for the following two days.
