Low pressure area likely to persist over Bay of Bengal

Low pressure area likely to persist over Bay of Bengal leading to light to moderate south western monsoon rains over Andaman and Nicobar Island within next 24 hours. The developed system expected to move towards eastern coast on 18th May.
In Northern part of India, Western Disturbances expected over Northern part of Jammu and Kashmir due to which some parts of Jammu and Kashmir, Uttrakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi NCR can receive scattered light rain within next 24 hours. Light rainfall expected over northern part of Rajasthan and North Western part of Uttar Pradesh.
In Eastern part of India, light rainfall expected over Bihar, West Bengal, Meghalaya, Sikkim, Assam,
Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Mizoram and adjoining areas within next 24 hours.
Scattered light rainfall expected over Central and Southern part of Maharashtra on 16th May.
In Southern part of India, light rainfall expected over some parts of Karnataka, Bangalore, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Interior part of Tamil Nadu within next 24 hours.
