Maize market is stable

The government has raised the minimum support price (MSP) for maize by ₹135 to ₹2225. In Bihar's markets, the pressure of maize arrivals has decreased over the past month, while competitive buying from traders has pushed market prices to ₹2400-2450 per quintal at ranking points, depending on quality. However, there seems to be a pause in price increase at these levels, as new maize from Uttar Pradesh is still exerting pressure. In the Farrukhabad, Kasganj, and Kannauj areas, maize is being sold at ₹2350-2400 per quintal at warehouses, where ethanol companies are actively purchasing. Yet, there seems to be a risk associated with these high prices. In UP and Bihar, maize is selling for ₹2550-2600 per quintal in Haryana and Punjab.
