Heavy Rains to Batter Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, and Uttar Pradesh.
A low-pressure area is currently situated over the west-central and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal, off the coasts of north Andhra Pradesh and south Odisha. The associated cyclonic circulation extends above mean sea level and tilts southwestwards with height. This system is expected to move slowly northwards and intensify into a depression over the northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas of Gangetic West Bengal, north Odisha, and the Bangladesh coasts over the next 2-3 days. The cyclonic circulation over northwest Uttar Pradesh and adjoining Haryana is tilting south-westwards. This will bring moderate to heavy rainfall to Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh over the next 2-3 days. A cyclonic circulation over northeast Assam and its neighboring regions is expected to bring moderate to heavy rainfall over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura. A Western Disturbance as a cyclonic circulation is present over Jammu and adjoining Pakistan. This will result in isolated to scattered rain and thunderstorms, with snow expected in northern Ladakh. Moderate to heavy rainfall is very likely over Maharashtra, the Gujarat region, and Goa. Light to moderate rainfall is forecasted for Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala, and Interior Karnataka.
