Bajra Report
Increase in Consumption by 35% Despite the high production of millet, stockists have strengthened their hold on the millet market due to the purchasing activities of maize and wheat ethanol companies. 30-35% of millet from Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan has already been consumed in food grains, leading to competitive purchasing by poultry and distillery plants. In Maulibarwala, millet is being sold at ₹2570-₹2580 per quintal. The new crop has arrived in the Prayagraj region of Uttar Pradesh. Additionally, millet from Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Rajasthan is entering the market. There is continuous buying activity from Haryana and Punjab, as well as from distillery plant buyers. Given the strong purchasing activities, there is no room for price reduction this time. The future prospects for millet trade look profitable.
