Intermittent Rain to Affect Tamil Nadu and Northeast India.
A cyclonic circulation over the Andaman Sea is expected to trigger the formation of a low-pressure area during next 24 hours. It is likely to move west-northwestwards and become a low pressure area over southeast Bay of Bengal around Saturday. This system is likely to intensify into a depression over southwest Bay of Bengal during subsequent 2 days. Light to moderate rainfall at many places over Andaman & Nicobar Islands during the week. Light to moderate rainfall with heavy spell at a few places accompanied with isolated thunderstorm & lightning very likely over Tamil Nadu and Puducherry during next 2-3 days. While Kerala and Mahe may experience after 2 days. Light rainfall is expected over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura during the next 1-2 days, with isolated hailstorm activity likely in Manipur and Meghalaya. Overall, rainfall is likely to be above normal over northeast India and normal to above normal over South Peninsular India during the week. Dense fog conditions are very likely to prevail in isolated pockets of East Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, and Haryana from late tonight to early morning over the next two days, and in Himachal Pradesh for the next 3-4 days. Additionally, shallow to moderate fog conditions are expected in isolated pockets across North India during the remaining days of the week. No significant change in minimum temperatures is expected over northwest, central, and east India during the next week, with no cold wave likely across any part of the country during this period. Maximum temperatures are projected to remain above normal in South India, while hovering near or slightly below normal across the rest of the subcontinent. Meanwhile, minimum temperatures are likely to stay above normal in North India, the northern plains, and the extreme southern peninsula.
