Maize Report
The consumption of maize is increasing rapidly in industrial sectors, especially in the poultry industry, making the current market price of maize profitable for traders. Over the next 6-7 months, no new crops are expected to enter the market, which could lead to further growth in maize consumption. Currently, maize consumption has increased by 28-30%. This year, maize production in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Maharashtra has been higher, which initially led to a drop in prices. However, with rising consumption, the market has started to recover. In the last fortnight, maize prices have increased by around ₹200 per quintal due to competitive purchases from consuming industries. In the past 18 months, maize consumption has increased by 40%, indicating a strong possibility of further price rises in maize. Currently, wheat is priced at ₹3100 per quintal, pearl millet (bajra) is selling at a higher price than maize, and barley prices are already high. In this scenario, maize is being sold at a lower price compared to other cereals, which presents a good opportunity for purchase. Given the expected price increase, traders should continue to make purchases.
