Wheat Sowing increases by 6.6% in India, decrease in Mustard sowing
Wheat Sowing: According to data released by the Ministry of Agriculture on Monday, Indian farmers have sown wheat on 20 million hectares since the sowing season began on October 1, marking a 6.6% increase compared to the previous year. This increase in sowing could help India, the world's second-largest wheat producer, boost production and potentially ease the high prices that reached record levels last week. Mustard Sowing Decline: As of November 29, farmers have sown rapeseed and mustard on 7.6 million hectares, down from 8 million hectares last year. The decrease in mustard sowing is concerning, as it is a major oilseed crop in India.
