Impact of Upcoming Western Disturbance on Northwest India.

The well-marked low-pressure area over the East Central Arabian Sea and adjoining coastal Karnataka will gradually move in the West-Northwest direction over the East Central Arabian Sea during the next 2 days. It is expected to maintain its intensity for next 12 hours and weaken gradually thereafter. Light to moderate rain with one or two heavy spells may occur over Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and coastal Karnataka. Light rain may occur over Telangana, Maharashtra, South Chhattisgarh, Lakshadweep and Andaman & Nicobar Islands. A fresh Western Disturbance is likely to affect Western Himalayan Region from 7th night and adjoining plains of Northwest India from 08th December. We expect isolated to scattered light to moderate rainfall and snowfall over the Western Himalayan Region between December 7 and 9 and over adjoining planes of Northwest India on December 8. Over the next two days, no change in minimum temperatures is expected across Northwest, Central, and East India, as well as Maharashtra, followed by a gradual drop of 2-4°C over the subsequent three days. In the Gujarat region, minimum temperatures are likely to rise by 2-3°C over the next three days, with a gradual decrease of 3-4°C in the following three days. For the rest of the country, no change in minimum temperatures is anticipated over the next 4-5 days.
