Rice Report

Currently, the arrival of paddy in the markets is substantial, leading to increased arrival pressure from Sharbati paddy. As a result, the prices in the mandis of Uttar Pradesh are ranging from ₹2150 to ₹2200 per quintal, while in Haryana, they are between ₹2225 and ₹2275 per quintal. Due to weak domestic and export demand for all types of basmati rice, the prices of 1509 sela are holding steady at ₹5600 to ₹5650 per quintal. Meanwhile, the prices for 1401 paddy have dropped to ₹2750 to ₹2800 per quintal, with its rice selling for ₹6100 to ₹6200 per quintal. Given the current weakness in demand, there is no immediate price rise expected, but long-term prospects are expected to be profitable.
