Heavy Rains to Soak Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Andhra Pradesh.

The well-marked low-pressure area over the Southwest Bay of Bengal near the Sri Lanka coast now lies over the Gulf of Mannar and adjoining areas. The associated cyclonic circulation extends up to mid-tropospheric levels. The system is likely to continue to move in the Northwest direction towards south Tamil Nadu and weaken gradually during the next 12 hours. The Western disturbance is seen as a middle tropospheric westerly. A Cyclonic Circulation is over Tripura. Moderate to heavy rain is possible over Tamil Nadu. Light to moderate rain with one or two heavy spells may occur over the South coast of Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and South interior Karnataka. Light rain is possible over Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep. Dense fog conditions are very likely to prevail during late night and early morning hours in isolated pockets of Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, and East Uttar Pradesh today, and in Himachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura during the next 2 days. Cold wave conditions very likely in isolated pockets over Rajasthan, some parts of Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, Delhi and Jammu & Kashmir during next 3-4 days. There will be no significant change in minimum temperatures over Northwest and Central India for the next 4-5 days. A gradual decrease of 2-3°C in minimum temperatures is expected over East India in the next two days, followed by stable conditions. Meanwhile, West India is likely to experience a gradual rise in minimum temperatures by 2-3°C over the next 2-3 days.
