Heavy Rains to Soak Andhra Pradesh and Odisha.
A well-marked low-pressure area off the coast of Andhra Pradesh is forecast to remain offshore by today, bringing rain to Odisha and northern Andhra Pradesh, including heavy spells and thunderstorms. The intensity of the rain is expected to ease by tomorrow; however, the associated cyclonic circulation is likely to persist over the Bay of Bengal, causing intermittent rain along the east coast through the weekend and into the next week. Light to moderate rainfall very likely at a few places with heavy rainfall at isolated places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, North Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry. Light to moderate rainfall very likely at a few places over coastal Odisha and coastal Gangetic west Bengal during next 2-3 days. A Western disturbance seen as a trough in lower & middle tropospheric westerlies runs roughly with an induced cyclonic circulation in the lower levels over northwest Rajasthan and neighbourhood. A fresh and active Western Disturbance is expected to affect the Western Himalayan region and adjoining plains within the next 10-15 days, bringing light to heavy rainfall across most parts of the country. This system will likely cause heavy snowfall in the hilly areas and widespread hailstorms in the plains. Additionally, the plains will experience dense fog and severe cold conditions. Due to its impact, light to moderate rainfall is anticipated in many parts of North India (Punjab, Chandigarh, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan), Central India (Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra), and East India (Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal). Heavy rainfall and hailstorms may also occur in isolated areas. There will be no significant change in minimum temperatures over Northwest India for the next three days, followed by a gradual rise of about 2°C. Similarly, no significant change is expected over East India for the next four days, but a gradual fall of 2-3°C is likely thereafter. Minimum temperatures in Maharashtra and Central India are expected to rise by 2-3°C over the next five days, while Gujarat State will experience no significant change in minimum temperatures during this period.
