A Western Disturbance as a cyclonic circulation is currently positioned over Jammu and adjoining north Pakistan at lower tropospheric levels. Additionally, a fresh Western Disturbance lies over central parts of Iran in both lower and middle tropospheric levels. These systems are expected to influence weather conditions across northern India in the coming days. The Western Himalayan region is likely to witness light isolated to scattered rainfall and snowfall over the next 3–4 days, with heavy precipitation expected in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday. Additionally, light isolated to scattered rainfall is likely over the plains of Northwest India starting Saturday. A cyclonic circulation lies over Equatorial Indian Ocean & adjoining southwest Bay of Bengal in lower tropospheric levels. In North Eastern States, apply light and frequent irrigation to the standing crops in the evening to protect them from low temperature stress or cold injuries. Use mulching and cover vegetable nurseries and young fruit plants with straw/polythene sheets to maintain optimum soil temperature. Isolated light rain may occur over coastal Tamil Nadu. Dense to very dense fog is possible over parts of Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. Cold Day to severe cold day conditions very likely in isolated pockets of Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.
