Fog to Clear in Plains; Wet Weather Expected in Northeast India.

A cyclonic circulation lies over northeast Assam & neighbourhood in lower tropospheric levels. Light to moderate rain with one or two heavy spells may occur over Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland, While Light rain is possible over Sikkim, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. Due to the cyclonic circulation over southeast Arabian Sea and adjoining south Kerala coast, light rain is expected over Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry. The Western Disturbance has now passed, and the weather has started clearing up. Today, dense fog lingered over parts of eastern Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, while it dissipated in Punjab, western Haryana, and Rajasthan, leaving the sky clear. This has led to an increased likelihood of frost formation in the plains over the next two days. With the passing of the Western Disturbance, dry northwesterly winds have become active over the plains. These winds have pushed the foggy moisture-rich air toward central and eastern India. In western Punjab, western and southern Haryana, Rajasthan, and western Madhya Pradesh, the weather is likely to remain mostly clear and fog-free for the next 2–3 days. From Friday, a new Western Disturbance will approach northern India. This will increase the influence of easterly winds, bringing back fog that could persist throughout the day. The impact of this Western Disturbance will be felt in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and northern and central Rajasthan. During this period, light to moderate showers are expected in these areas. A fall in minimum temperatures by 2–4°C is likely over Northwest and Central India during the next 24 hours, followed by a gradual rise of 2–4°C. Similarly, East India is expected to see a drop in minimum temperatures by 2–4°C during the next 24 hours, with no significant change thereafter. In Maharashtra, minimum temperatures are likely to decrease by 2–3°C over the next 24 hours, followed by a gradual rise of 2–3°C. Meanwhile, Gujarat is not expected to witness any significant change in minimum temperatures over the next 24 hours, but a gradual rise of 2–3°C is likely thereafter.
