Under its influence, Light to moderate isolated to scattered rainfall and snowfall likely over Western Himalayan region, Northwest India and adjoining central India for next 1-2 days. Thunderstorm activity at isolated places likely over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, West Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh for next 1-2 days. A cyclonic circulation lies over Southeast Bay of Bengal in lower tropospheric levels. Under its influence, Light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by heavy spells, thunderstorms, and lightning, is very likely at a few places over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Kerala in two days. Light to moderate rainfall accompanied with thunderstorm, lightning very likely at isolated places over northeastern states during next week. As for mercury levels, maximum temperatures will remain below to well below normal across the Northern plains throughout the week. Early next week, this cooler trend is forecast to slightly shift southward, affecting Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and adjoining regions. Minimum temperatures will be normal or above normal across much of the country in the coming days.
