Feburary 27, 2025

The Western Disturbance persists as a trough extending from the lower to upper tropospheric levels. Meanwhile, the cyclonic circulation previously over northwest Rajasthan and adjoining Pakistan has now shifted to west Rajasthan and its surrounding areas as an induced cyclonic circulation. The main effect of this fresh Western Disturbance will start from today and will continue till Saturday morning. The main system will start having a direct impact on North India. Due to which, in these 3 days, there will be light rain and heavy rain in some places in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and North Rajasthan. Starting today, light to moderate rain and snowfall are expected at many locations in the upper hilly regions of Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. The weather is likely to clear up after Saturday night, but until then, intermittent light to heavy rain and snowfall will continue. Starting tomorrow morning, most parts of Punjab and Haryana will experience light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning. The weather is expected to clear from Sunday, marking the onset of a new cold spell. Rain will continue in North Rajasthan, while the chances of rainfall in South Rajasthan remain minimal. Over the next three days, morning temperatures in Rajasthan could reach record highs. In the western districts, the minimum temperature is expected to rise significantly above normal, potentially setting new records in some areas. The upcoming weather system in Uttar Pradesh will bring rain to many districts. From today to the evening of Saturday, light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by thunder and strong winds, is expected. During this entire period, no rainfall is expected in any district of Madhya Pradesh. But on saturday, light cloud cover may develop over North Madhya Pradesh, with a slight chance of drizzle in isolated areas, though the likelihood remains low. This system will primarily impact Madhya Pradesh by causing a significant rise in daytime temperatures, with maximum temperatures increasing by 4-5°C above normal. Over the next five days, temperatures in the state could easily reach 36°C. In the southern region, a Cyclonic Circulation over the southern seas will bring rain to Tamil Nadu during next 2 days, with possible thunderstorms.
