Light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds (30-50 kmph), is expected over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura for the next 3-4 days. A trough runs from north Chhattisgarh to Vidarbha in lower tropospheric levels. A trough and wind confluence in the lower troposphere over East India is expected to bring scattered to fairly widespread rainfall across east-central India starting tomorrow, with peak activity anticipated in two days. Thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds are likely to accompany the rain. Additionally, isolated hailstorms are forecasted for Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Odisha two days from now. A gradual increase in maximum temperatures by approximately 3-5°C is expected over Northwest India in the next 4-5 days. Over East India, maximum temperatures are likely to remain steady for the next 3 days, followed by a drop of 2-4°C in the subsequent 2 days. For the rest of India, no significant change in maximum temperatures is anticipated over the next 3-4 days. Heat wave conditions are expected to persist at isolated pockets over interior Odisha for the next two days.
