Wheat Market Report
Today, wheat prices remained mostly stable across major markets in the country, with minor fluctuations noted in some regions. Northern India: Prices of wheat products such as flour, refined flour (maida), and semolina (sooji) weakened by up to ₹50 in Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, West Bengal, and Bihar. Gujarat: A mixed trend was observed with prices falling by ₹10-15 in some areas, while others recorded an increase of over ₹30. Southern India: Prices in most mills in the southern region weakened, although mills in the Hyderabad line saw a ₹5-10 rise in prices. Madhya Pradesh: Most markets in the state recorded wheat prices below the Minimum Support Price (MSP). Impact of New Crop Arrival: The arrival of the new wheat crop in the mandis of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh has increased significantly, resulting in reduced demand for tendered wheat. This has led to a drop in prices, with new and old wheat currently priced at ₹2900-2950 per quintal. New crops have also started arriving in regions such as Chhindwara, Madhya Pradesh. Experts suggest that while there may be short-term price increases due to weather fluctuations, sustained price hikes are unlikely. Farmers are advised to take advantage of market opportunities and sell their produce as per prevailing conditions.
