Northeast India to Experience Rain and Thunderstorms, While Heat Waves Sweep Across Northern Regions.

An upper air cyclonic circulation persists over East Bihar at lower tropospheric levels. Additionally, a north-south trough extends from North Chhattisgarh to the Gulf of Mannar. Upper air cyclonic circulations are also observed over Northeast Assam and South Coastal Tamil Nadu at lower tropospheric levels. Under the influence of these systems: Light to moderate rainfall accompanied with thunderstorm, lightning & gusty winds (speed reaching 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph) likely over Northeast India during next 7 days. Heavy rainfall is likely in Assam and Meghalaya for the next two days starting tomorrow, in Arunachal Pradesh for the next three days, and in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura for the next two days. Light to moderate rainfall, along with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds (30–40 kmph, gusting up to 50 kmph), is likely over Karnataka, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry during the next 7 days. Light rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds (40–50 kmph, gusting up to 60 kmph) is likely over Lakshadweep and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands today, and over East India after two days, continuing for the subsequent two days. Hailstorm activity is likely over Jharkhand after three days. A fresh Western Disturbance is expected to affect the Western Himalayan Region from tonight, bringing light rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning over the region during the next two days. Heat wave conditions are very likely in isolated pockets over West Madhya Pradesh and West Rajasthan during the next 5 days; over East Madhya Pradesh for the next 3 days; and over Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Odisha, Jharkhand, and Gangetic West Bengal for the next 2 days. Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, and East Rajasthan are expected to experience heat wave conditions starting tomorrow, continuing for the next 3–4 days. Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra are expected to be affected till tomorrow. Warm night conditions are very likely in isolated pockets over Bihar, Odisha, and Gangetic West Bengal during the next two nights.
