Monsoon in Motion: India Rainfall Forecast and Weather Insights
The low pressure area over north Bay of Bengal & adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh, West Bengal & north Odisha moved north-northwestwards and lay as a well marked low pressure area over southwest Bangladesh and adjoining Gangetic West Bengal. The associated upper air cyclonic circulation extended upto 7.6 km above mean sea level tilting southwestwards with height. It is likely to move northwestwards and concentrate into a Depression during next 24 hours. Northwest India is forecast to receive moderate to heavy rainfall, particularly over Rajasthan, Punjab, and Delhi until tomorrow. Similar conditions are expected over Jammu-Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh over the next three days, while Uttarakhand is likely to experience rainfall extending through the next five days. East Uttar Pradesh may see wet conditions starting tomorrow, continuing for three days, whereas rain is anticipated in West Uttar Pradesh after three days and persisting thereafter. Additionally, light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning is likely across the western Himalayan region and certain parts of the plains over the next seven days. East and Central India are expected to receive light to moderate rainfall over the coming days, accompanied by occasional heavy spells. Rainfall activity will likely persist over West Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Bihar for the next three days. Odisha, on the other hand, is forecast to experience similar weather conditions extending over the next four to five days. West India is expected to witness light to moderate rainfall over the next five days. Rainfall activity is likely to impact Konkan and Goa, the Ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra, and the regions of Saurashtra and Kutch starting today. Additionally, the Gujarat region is forecast to experience showers during the following two days. Northeast India is set to experience light to moderate rainfall across many locations, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, for the next seven days. During this period, heavy rainfall is highly likely over Assam and Meghalaya, as well as in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, and Arunachal Pradesh. Notably, Meghalaya is expected to receive particularly intense rainfall today. Over the next few days, South Peninsular India is expected to experience moderate to heavy rainfall. The showers will affect Kerala and Mahe, as well as the coastal and southern interior regions of Karnataka. Starting tomorrow, Tamil Nadu will also see increased rainfall activity, which is forecast to persist for the subsequent four days.
