A low-pressure area has developed today over the northwest Bay of Bengal, near the Odisha coast, influenced by an upper air cyclonic circulation positioned off the Odisha-West Bengal coasts. This system extends vertically up to 7.6 km above mean sea level and shows a southwestward tilt with height. Over the next two days, it is expected to move in a west-northwestward direction and intensify further. Northwest India is expected to receive moderate to heavy rainfall over the next few days. Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, and East Rajasthan will likely see significant rain for the next five days, while Haryana and Punjab can expect similar conditions for the next three days. Rainfall is anticipated to begin in Uttar Pradesh after three days. In the western Himalayan region, light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning is likely to continue for the next seven days. The adjoining plains may experience similar weather for the next two days, followed by scattered rainfall over the subsequent five days. East and Central India are likely to experience moderate to heavy rainfall in the coming days. Chhattisgarh and Odisha can expect significant showers over the next four days. Meanwhile, rainfall is forecast to begin in Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, and Jharkhand after three days and continue for two days thereafter. West India is expected to receive light to moderate rainfall across the region over the next seven days. However, heavier spells are likely to persist in Gujarat and Maharashtra for the next four days. In Northeast India, light to moderate rain is set to continue over Assam, Meghalaya, and Arunachal Pradesh for the next six to seven days. Meanwhile, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura are likely to experience similar conditions for the next three days. South Peninsular India is likely to experience light to moderate rainfall at a few locations over the next three days, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning. This activity is expected to become more widespread across the region during the following four days. Kerala and Coastal Karnataka may see heavy rainfall over the next three days. Meanwhile, Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Telangana are expected to receive rain starting tomorrow, continuing for the next two days.
