Rain, Thunderstorms, and Hail Alert in North India and Several Other States
Weather conditions across the country remain highly active at present. A western disturbance is positioned over Jammu and Kashmir and adjoining regions in the form of a cyclonic circulation. At the same time, multiple cyclonic circulations are present over the Bay of Bengal, northeast Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Telangana. Additionally, a trough is extending from Odisha to Tamil Nadu, enhancing weather activity. A fresh western disturbance is likely to affect northwest India from April 11, which may lead to further changes in weather conditions. During the past 24 hours, light to moderate rainfall with isolated heavy showers was recorded over western Rajasthan. Meanwhile, light to moderate rain occurred over Northeast India, West Bengal, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Sikkim. Light rain along with thunderstorms was also observed in several regions including Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Jharkhand. Over the next 24 hours, light to moderate rain and snowfall are expected over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. Scattered rainfall, thunderstorms, and possible hailstorms may occur over Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, and western Uttar Pradesh. In addition, rain and thunderstorm activities are likely to continue over Odisha, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Tamil Nadu, and Northeast India. Light to moderate rainfall is also expected in parts of eastern Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Telangana.
