Monsoon activity has intensified across the country, bringing widespread rainfall to several regions. During the past 24 hours, Central Maharashtra recorded the highest rainfall, receiving more than 21 cm of rain. Very heavy rainfall (12�20 cm) was also recorded in Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Meghalaya, Jharkhand, Kerala, Coastal Karnataka, South Interior Karnataka, and Telangana. Meanwhile, heavy rainfall (7�11 cm) was reported at isolated places across West Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, West and East Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Odisha, Saurashtra, Goa, Tamil Nadu, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, and Arunachal Pradesh. Multiple Weather Systems Driving Monsoon Activity Several weather systems remain active across the country, including the monsoon trough, a western disturbance, and multiple cyclonic circulations over northern, central, eastern, and southern India. These systems are expected to sustain widespread rainfall over many regions during the coming week. Northwest India to Witness Prolonged Rainfall Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu & Kashmir, and Ladakh are likely to experience persistent rainfall between August 4 and 10, with heavy to very heavy rainfall expected over Himachal Pradesh from August 5�10 and Uttarakhand from August 6�10. Rainfall activity is also expected over Haryana, Punjab, Chandigarh, Delhi, and West Uttar Pradesh between August 4 and 6, while East Uttar Pradesh may receive heavy rain on August 4 and 6. West Rajasthan is likely to witness heavy rainfall between August 7 and 9. Central India to See Peak Activity Around August 7 Rainfall is expected to intensify across West and East Madhya Pradesh between August 6 and 9, with very heavy rainfall likely over West Madhya Pradesh on August 7 and East Madhya Pradesh during August 6�7. Chhattisgarh is expected to receive widespread rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning from August 4 to 10. Eastern India Remains Under Rain Watch Odisha, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal, and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim are likely to experience widespread rainfall through August 10. Very heavy rainfall is expected over Odisha on August 5�6, while Bihar and Sikkim could witness intense rainfall on August 5. Northeast India Faces Risk of Extremely Heavy RainAssam and Meghalaya are likely to receive heavy to extremely heavy rainfall on August 4 and 5. Persistent rainfall is also expected across Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura through August 10, with isolated heavy rainfall likely over several areas. Konkan, Goa and Central Maharashtra on Alert Konkan and Goa are expected to receive widespread rainfall from August 4 to 10. Central Maharashtra is likely to witness very heavy rainfall on August 5 and 6, while Marathwada may experience thunderstorms accompanied by rainfall on August 4 and again during August 7�8.
