Severe Cyclonic Storm 'Maha' intensified into an Extremely Severe Cyclonic Storm and lay centered over eastcentral& adjoining westcentral Arabian Sea. It is likely to move west-northwestwards slowly during next 24 hours. It is likely to cross Gujarat coast between Diu and Porbandar as a Severe Cyclonic Storm with a maximum sustained wind speed of 100-110 kmph around mid-night of 6th November 2019. Under the influence of Cyclonic Circulation over north Andaman Sea & adjoining Myanmar coast, a Low Pressure Area has formed over north Andaman Sea. It is likely to move west-northwestwards, concentrate into a Depression over eastcentral Bay of Bengal during subsequent 2-3 days. The present overcast weather condition and intermittent rains will favor incidence Brown Plant Hopper (BPH) in rice; alter the micro-climate of the rice plant by alternate wetting and drying technique (Water should not stand in field for long time). Spray Azadirachtin 0.15% w/w (minimum) neem seed kernel based EC formulation @ 600-800 ml/acre or Triflumezopyrim 10SC @ 94 ml/acre or Pymetrozine 50% WG @ 120 g/acre or Dinotefuran 20% SG @ 80g /acre or Imidacloprid 17.8% SL @ 50 ml/acre or Acephate 75% SP @ 400 g/acre Use 200 litres of water per acre during spraying.

Under the influence of weather system, heavy rainfall at isolated places is likely over Andaman & Nicobar Islands during next 2 days and heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places is likely over Gujarat region & Saurashtra coasts on 6th & 7th and isolated heavy falls likely over Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and West Madhya Pradesh on 7th. In present weather condition, field preparation should be started for rabi crops. Ploughing and planking should be done properly to conserve the moisture in the soil.if grain filling is complete, do vertical stalking of the harvested plants without removing cobs. Dry the crop properly before threshing.It is the optimum time for transplanting of midseason cauliflower. This is also the best time for sowing of pea, root and leafy vegetables.Due to chances of rain likely at isolated places during period, irrigation to the crops maybe avoided during the period.
