Under the influence of cyclone 'Maha' and its likely interaction with westerly trough, heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places is likely over Gujarat region & Saurashtra coasts on 6th & 7th and isolated heavy falls likely over Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, East Rajasthan and West Madhya Pradesh on 7th. In Himachal Pradesh after harvesting of kharif crops maize, pulses and rice clean the fields and undertake sowing of mustard, linseed and gobhi sarson. In Madhya Pradesh, farmers are advised to procure good quality seeds of wheat and start field’s preparation. Seed rate should be100 kg seed per hectare. Application of Chlorpyriphos (20EC) @ 5 litres per hectare with pre-irrigation is recommended before sowing in the fields having perennial problem of termite infestation.
