India’s Mung Bean Imports reveal weak performance
Imports of mung beans by India sank relative to the previous month in April, data from Directorate General of Commercial Intelligence & Statistics reveals. Imports during the month totalled 10,370 metric tons (MT), down from 58,462 MT the previous month. This lifted imports so far during the calendar year to 113,295, up 438% last year. The number one supplier for the month was Myanmar, shipping 7,161 MT. United Arab Emirates was the second most important supplier supplying 1,977 MT, followed by Singapore at 749 MT.
