Scattered rain over East India, Parts of Rajasthan and South India to witness severe heatwave conditions

A western disturbance is over north Pakistan and adjoining parts of Jammu & Kashmir. A cyclonic circulation is over South Chhattisgarh. A cyclonic circulation is over Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal. A cyclonic circulation is over Sri Lanka and the adjoining area. Low pressure area is over the North Andaman sea and adjoining parts of the south Myanmar coast. During the next 24 hours, scattered light to moderate rain may occur over Jammu & Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Ladakh and parts of Himachal Pradesh. Light to moderate rain with one or two heavy spells may continue over the Northern island of Andaman and Nicobar. In east India, scattered rain and thundershowers are possible over Gangetic West Bengal, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. Isolated rain and thundershower may occur over Odisha and Mizoram. In the southern peninsula, light rain activities are possible over Kerala, Tamil Nadu, South interior Karnataka as well as isolated pockets of north coastal Andhra Pradesh. Heatwave conditions are expected to continue over parts of Tamil Nadu, isolated pockets of coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Rayalaseema. Parts of West Rajasthan and Vidarbha may also come under heatwave conditions in the next 24 to 48 hours. Clear weather with slightly comfortable day time temperature is expected in Punjab, Haryana, UP and Bihar.
