Minimum temperature to fall over East India by 2 to 3 degrees and severe cold wave may occur over Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and West UP

A well-marked low-pressure area lies over south Andaman Sea and adjoining area. Associated circulation is extending up to 5.8 Km above mean sea level. A fresh western disturbance is expected to affect western Himalayas from December 22nd and another around December 24th.

During the next 24 hours, light to moderate rain with isolated heavy spells are possible over Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

No major change in minimums of Northwest India. Minimums of east and adjoining central India may fall by 2-3 degree. Severe cold wave conditions may occur over parts of east Rajasthan. Cold wave conditions are possible over Delhi, Parts of Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, J&K, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Gilgit Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, west Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and at isolated pockets of Telangana.
