Mustard area increased by 50 percent in UP
The area under mustard crop has increased by about 50 percent in sugarcane-dominated areas of Uttar Pradesh. The eyes of the farmers are on higher profits in view of the increase in the prices of mustard oil.
Mustard MSP has increased by Rs 400 For Rabi season 2021-22, the central government has increased the MSP of mustard by Rs 400 to Rs 5050 per quintal. Enthused by the increase in MSP and the tremendous price received last year, farmers have cultivated mustard this time fiercely.
Mustard area increased by 15.36 lakh hectare According to the data of the Ministry of Agriculture, this time farmers have sown mustard in an area of 86.98 lakh hectares in the country. Last time the area under mustard was 71.62 lakh hectare in the same period. That is, this year there has been an increase of 15.36 lakh hectare area. Among the oilseed crops, farmers have sown the maximum mustard. The total area under oilseeds is 95.04 lakh hectares while that of mustard alone is 86.98 lakh hectares.
