Widespread rains with locally heavy falls and thunderstorms are likely over north-eastern Rajasthan and adjoining Punjab and Haryana, Konkan and Malabar coasts.

Cyclonic circulation is over central parts of Pakistan and adjoining parts of northwest Punjab. The east west trough is extending from Punjab to West Central Bay of Bengal off South Odisha coast across Haryana, South Uttar Pradesh, Northeast Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and South Odisha. Widespread rains with locally heavy falls and thunderstorms are likely over north-eastern Rajasthan and adjoining Punjab and Haryana, Konkan and Malabar coasts. Scattered to fairly widespread rainfall and thunderstorms are expected over North-eastern India due to moist flow from the Bay of Bengal. IMD issued a 2-day notice for eastern Rajasthan from June 30 to July 1 and a 3-day orange alert for western UP from June 29 to July 2. Southwest Monsoon has advanced and entered the eastern parts of Rajasthan, Haryana, and Punjab on June 30. Conditions are favourable for its further advance into some more parts of Rajasthan, the entire Punjab and Haryana today, July 1. A west-east trough persists from Punjab to the northeast Bay of Bengal. Widespread rain with possible locally heavy falls is expected in Rajasthan and the adjoining areas from Friday to Saturday. Some Eastern Indian states, such as Odisha, will see locally heavy rain with thunderstorms on Friday.

During the next 24 hours, light to moderate rain with few heavy spells are possible over western parts of Madhya Pradesh, parts of Southwest Uttar Pradesh, east Rajasthan, sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, Konkan and Goa, coastal Karnataka, and parts of north Kerala. Light to moderate rain with one or two heavy spells is possible over Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, parts of Haryana, Delhi, and south Chhattisgarh. Isolated heavy rainfall is possible over Madhya Pradesh on July 1 and 2 and over Chhattisgarh during the next five days. Isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall is also predicted over West Madhya Pradesh for July 1. Light to moderate rain is possible over rest of Northeast India, parts of Bihar, Odisha, west Madhya Pradesh, part of East Rajasthan, Saurashtra and Kutch, Telangana, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Lakshadweep.
