During the next 24 hours, light to moderate rain with few heavy spells are possible over Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Kerala, coastal Karnataka and Lakshadweep. Westerly winds from the Arabian Sea will produce heavy rain over South India and West India for several days. The monsoon trough is now passing through Amritsar, Chandigarh, Bareilly, Lucknow, Varanasi and then to North East Bay of Bengal. A cyclonic circulation is over the west-central Bay of Bengal near the South Andhra Pradesh coast. Another cyclonic circulation is over Northeast Uttar Pradesh at the lower levels and South Western Rajasthan.
Scattered light to moderate rain may occur over Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, south and East Rajasthan, Konkan and Goa, Maharashtra, parts of east Gujarat, Chhattisgarh and Odisha. A north-south trough extends from Chhattisgarh to the Comorin area across Telangana, Rayalaseema and Tamil Nadu at lower levels. Light rain is possible over Punjab, Haryana, Delhi NCR, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu Kashmir and at one or two places over west Rajasthan, Gujarat and Ladakh.
