A cyclonic circulation over the Southeast Bay of Bengal adjoining Kerala coast is likely to move westwards slowly. Meanwhile, a fresh cyclonic circulation is expected to form over North Andaman Sea around Tuesday and then become a low-pressure area around Thursday. Under the influence of the above system, heavy rainfall is possible in some areas of the Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala, Mahe and Lakshadweep during the next five days. Similar conditions are also expected over western Maharashtra and South Interior Karnataka on Monday, and heavy downpours are forecast in isolated places of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala and Mahe, particularly on Thursday. Due to the above system, the withdrawal of Southwest Monsoon is delayed by about ten days from normal. Additionally, a fresh western disturbance is likely to affect the Western Himalayan region from Tuesday night. During the next 24 hours, light to moderate rain with few heavy spells is possible over South Kerala, lakshadweep and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
