Isolated rains and thunderstorms are likely over southern Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Andaman & Nicobar Islands
The Cyclone Sitrang degenerated rapidly and now seen as a cyclonic circulation over Assam and adjoining areas. During the next 24 hours, north-westerly winds are expected to continue over most parts of Northwest and Central India. Light rain is expected to occur over parts of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland. Isolated very heavy rainfall is also very likely over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal on October 30 and 31.
Meanwhile, the North-eastern states and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim are also in for light rains during the next 24 hours. Dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest of the country during the next five days. Light rain with one or two moderate spells is possible over Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Isolated light rain may occur over coastal Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
