The prices of wheat are running very high as compared to maize, this is the reason that in addition to this the consumption of food grains has started increasing. On the other hand, due to high prices in the international markets, all-round buying is going on by the exporters. At present, exporters are continuously buying from the mandis of Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. Maize is being shipped to other countries including Bangladesh and Nepal, in view of these circumstances, Maize is being sold at Rs 2375/2400 per quintal in Haryana-Punjab, there is no scope to reduce it now.
