An active western disturbance lies as a cyclonic circulation over East Afghanistan and the neighbourhood in lower to upper tropospheric levels. At the same time, its induced cyclonic circulation lies over southwest Rajasthan and the neighbourhood in lower tropospheric levels. In addition, scattered to fairly widespread light rains accompanied by thunderstorms may lash Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Uttar Pradesh. Isolated light rain or drizzle is forecast over Delhi. Further, isolated hailstorms may occur over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh; and over Uttar Pradesh. Light isolated rains or thundershowers are also forecast over Uttar Pradesh and East Rajasthan and over West Rajasthan. As for the mercury levels, maximum temperatures are expected to stay below or well below average over North India and adjoining areas. Meanwhile, East India and Northeast India may experience above or well-above-average daytime highs. Minimum temperatures are expected to stay above to well above normal across India during this projection period.
