During the next 24 hours, light to moderate rain with few heavy spells is possible over Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and Odisha. Keep the harvested wheat crop in a safe place. Farmers are advised to cover the harvested produce with polythene sheet in the field. After rain, dry the crop thoroughly in the sun and do threshing. Heavy rains may pound isolated places over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya from May 2-4. In Assam, Fasal Salah advises farmers to postpone sowing of maize seeds in the field and if already sown, make arrangements to drain out excess rain water.

Heavy rains are expected over Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Rayalaseema, Kerala and Tamil Nadu on May 2-3. Hailstorms are possible at isolated places over Telangana. Fasal Salah advises farmers to postpone the irrigation and spraying of plant protection chemicals for coming 3-4 days Dust storms are very likely at isolated places over West Rajasthan on May 4. Hailstorms are possible at isolated places over Marathawada and East Madhya Pradesh on May 2. Farmers are advised to store the harvested crops in a safe place.
