A low-pressure area is expected to develop over the Southeast Bay of Bengal on May 7th and may intensify into a depression by May 8th. It will move towards the central parts of Bengal and may intensify into a cyclone. Moderate rain along with Hailstorms may pelt isolated places over Punjab and Haryana on May 7. Stop sowing of cotton due to possibility of rain during the period. Light to moderate rain is possible over Bihar, Jharkhand, interior Odisha, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Gujarat. Fasal Salah advises farmers of Odisha to stop sowing, spraying of pesticide and irrigation activities for coming 3-4 days.

Heavy rainfall is also very likely to occur at isolated places over Arunachal Pradesh. Fasal advises farmers to postpone land preparation and sowing of the pea crop. If already sown, maintain proper drainage in the field to avoid water stagnation. Heavy rains may occur at isolated places over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala and Mahe on May 5 and South Interior Karnataka in coming 2-3 days. Farmers are advised to protect the harvested food grains from rainwater and store it in proper place.
