A strong western disturbance named Prachand by IMD is approaching North Indian regions. This will cause moderate rainfall combined with hailstorms in some places in Delhi, Rajasthan, Punjab and Haryana. Fasal Salah advises farmers not to burn wheat straw but plough the same in the field as it will improve the fertility of soil. Heavy rains may lash isolated places over Arunachal Pradesh on May 19-22, Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura from May 18-22. Moderate rainfall is predicted for the coming five days therefore farmers are suggested to postpone the harvest. Heavy rain may occur at isolated places over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim on May 18.

Under their influence, light rain or snow at higher altitudes is possible across the Western Himalayan Region on May 18-19. Dust storms may prevail over isolated pockets of Rajasthan. Heatwave conditions may impact isolated pockets over Rajasthan from May 20-22 and South Uttar Pradesh on May 20-21. Due to humid air and high temperature, hot weather may prevail over Konkan and Goa during the next five days over Rayalaseema, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Coastal Andhra Pradesh.
