Chana - Masoor procurement data by NAFED

NAFED procured 21.45 lakh tonnes of gram till May 26, till May 29, 21.68 lakh tonnes of gram was purchased by NAFED, which means only 20 thousand tonnes of gram was purchased in these 3 days, which means that the pace of kharif has slowed down. Government procurement of gram can reach a maximum of 23 lakh tonnes in the current season. After the previous outstanding stock of 14.62 lakh tonnes and procurement of 23 lakh tonnes for the current season, 37.62 lakh tonnes of chana stock will be available in the pool, which is about 30% of the consumption. After the purchase is closed, this gram can be given to different states under the PSS / PSF scheme and government schemes in the markets. Due to which there is a possibility of pressure on the current prices. Along with Chana, Nafed procured 69,653 tonnes of Masoor, the maximum procurement of which was 62,777.4 tonnes from Madhya Pradesh. Lentil procurement increased due to prices being below MSP. The stock of Masoor in the Central Pool is not satisfactory as of now including the imported stock. It is expected that the procurement of imported Masoor will continue in the coming days so that there is maximum stock of Masoor in the Central Pool.
