Heavy Rains Forecasted over Assam, Uttarakhand, West Uttar Pradesh, Coastal Andhra, Kerala.

A monsoon trough is running across Jaisalmer, Kota, Guna, Sagar, Pendra Road, Jamshedpur, Digha and thence east-south-eastwards to Northeast Bay of Bengal. • A cyclonic circulation, with its associated trough extending to south Chhattisgarh, is present over northwest Madhya Pradesh and the area around it. • A new cyclonic circulation may develop over the Northwest and adjacent West-Central Bay of Bengal, in next 2 days. • They may cause isolated heavy falls, thunderstorms, and light to moderate widespread to widespread rainfall over the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, North-eastern India in upcoming 2-3 days, Odisha, Jharkhand and over Gangetic West Bengal in next 2-4 days. Farmers are advised to postpone the top dressing of Nitrogen into the paddy field as heavy rainfall is forecasted. Make bunds to maintain the water level of 3-5 cm in the paddy field. If excess rain occurs, drain out the excess water. • Additionally, East Uttar Pradesh may have up to moderately widespread scattered to very heavy rains and thunderstorms with isolated very heavy falls, while in next 2-3 days, Uttarakhand may experience isolated heavy showers. Farmers are advised for sowing of guar, radish, cluster bean, beans, spinach, amaranths and ladyfinger on ridges. • To the south India, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Mahe, Rayalseema and Telangana may have light to moderate widely distributed to widely distributed rainfall with occasional severe rains. • Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada may get isolated heavy showers along with up to moderate widespread to widespread rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning, in next 4 days.
