Maize - no scope for reduction now
Due to the demand in the mandis of Bihar and the demand from the starch mills, the prices have increased by Rs 100 to Rs 2100/2150 per quintal in Gulabbagh, Darbhanga, Purnia, Semapur line in a span of 7-8 days. Due to this goods reach in Haryana-Punjab line which was sold for Rs 2200 has started rising to Rs 2300. Considering the high prices of wheat, the consumption of maize is likely to increase. On the other hand, starch mills have also not been able to purchase much goods. There is fear about the upcoming provincial crops, but considering the possibility of all-round pole in the crop due to adverse weather, the current price of corn will give profit in future. The arrival of maize has also ended in the mandis of UP, only the stock goods have started coming out of the warehouses.
