Heavy rains to hit Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand; Odisha in for extremely heavy rainfall

A cyclonic circulation is lying over southwest Uttar Pradesh, which may result in light-moderate rainfall in UP, Punjab, Haryana, Uttarakhand, East Rajasthan, MP, Jharkhand. • Meanwhile, another cyclonic circulation is present over the central Bay of Bengal. A low-pressure area has developed over the central region of North Bay of Bengal as a result of its effect. • Isolated extremely heavy downpours are expected over Odisha for next 2-3 days. • Light to moderate showers accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning and isolated heavy rains are expected over East Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh and West Madhya Pradesh for next 3-4 days. Farmers are advised to monitor their fields regularly. Spray of Imidacloprid 17.8 % SC 1.0 ml/ 3 litre of water recommended against white flies and other sucking pests in all crop and vegetables when sky remains clear. • In Maize fields, if plants are infested by Sheath Blight, uproot and destroy the plants, and spray carbondizm + Mencozeb 1000 gm/ha. • To the south, light to moderate fairly widespread to widespread rains with isolated heavy falls are forecasted over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and are expected in Telangana during next 3 days. • Light to moderate rain with isolated heavy falls may occur over Assam and Meghalaya Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura for next 2-3 days. • For next five days, isolated rainfalls are expected over the Konkan coast, including Mumbai city, due to the moist westerly flows from the Arabian Sea.
