Northeast Monsoon to Arrive in Couple of Days

Northeast monsoon over southern peninsular region is expected to arrive by next 2-3 days. •Initial phases of this monsoon are expected to be weak. •Normal-above normal rainfalls are anticipated over the southern peninsular regions during the northeast monsoon period. •Initial weeks are likely to bring light-moderate rainfall over Southern parts of Kerala and Tamilnadu. •To control wilt in banana, farmers are advised to apply Bacillus subtilis and Trichoderma viride @ 1 kg/acre. or drenching with Bacillus subtilis 5 ml/litre. •In paddy fields, in case of Stem Borer Spray Azadirachtin 0.03% 400 ml (Or) Flubendiamide 20% WG 50g per acre in 200 litres of water; •Leaf folder- Spray Acephate 75 % SP 400 ml (Or) Spray Azadirachtin 0.03% 400ml per acre in 200 litres of water; •Another western disturbance is expected to arrive by 21-22 October, which is anticipated to bring light-moderate showers over Northern parts of Rajasthan. •Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and adjoining regions are to experience moderate temperatures. •Farmers are advised to start sowing of rabi crops like Mustard, wheat, potato and chickpea as the temperature favours germination. •A well-marked low pressure area is lying over the southwest Arabian Sea. •It is likely to move nearly west to north-westwards and concentrate into a depression over the next six hours. •A cyclonic circulation associated with a low pressure area is lying over southeast Bay of Bengal. •It is likely to intensify further into a depression over west central Bay of Bengal around October 23. •It is anticipated to bring light-moderate rainfall over coastal regions of AP and Odisha in next 2-3 days. •Farmers are advised to apply of flubendamide @0.3 ml /lit and trichogama cilonis @20000 egg parasites at 120 days of the sugarcane crop to control Internodal borer. •To control Fruit & Shoot borer in Chilli, Brinjal and Tomato go for spraying with Profenophos @ 400 ml/ac or cypermethrin @ 200 ml/ac. Remova;l of effected plant parts. •Additionally, a cyclonic circulation is lying over Comorin area and nearby regions, and it can bring to light-moderate showers over coastal parts of Tamilnadu, Kerala and Mahe.
