Light-Moderate widespread rains over North-eastern regions; Thunderstorms over Kerala and Tamilnadu

The Severe Cyclonic Storm “Hamoon” over Northeast Bay of Bengal has weakened into a Cyclonic Storm and crossed Bangladesh coast to the south of Chittagong. It is very likely to move north-eastwards and weaken into a deep depression and further into a depression during next one day. As a result of this system, light to moderate rainfall with isolated heavy rainfall is forecast over Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, South Assam and Meghalaya for next 1-2 days. Light-moderate rains with thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds are also anticipated over Kerala and Mahe, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal for next 1-2 days. To control wilt in banana, farmers are advised to apply Bacillus subtilis and Trichoderma viride @ 1 kg/acre. or drenching with Bacillus subtilis 5 ml/litre. In paddy fields, in case of Stem Borer Spray Azadirachtin 0.03% 400 ml (Or) Flubendiamide 20% WG 50g per acre in 200 litres of water; To control Fruit & Shoot borer in Chilli, Brinjal and Tomato go for spraying with Profenophos @ 400 ml/ac or cypermethrin @ 200 ml/ac. Removal of effected plant parts. No significant western disturbance activity is found over next 6-7 days. Clear weather is anticipated in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh for next 6-7 days. Farmers are advised to proceed with the sowing of rabi crops like wheat, mustard, chickpea, methi and potato when the day temperature is below 30°c.
