Moderate snow is likely over Himachal Pradesh, whereas scattered rains are forecast over Uttarakhand during next 4 days. Light rainfall and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) may prevail over Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and East Rajasthan for coming 3-4 days. A cyclonic circulation, situated over the Gulf of Mannar will produce scattered light to moderate rainfall over Kerala-Mahe, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Lakshadweep in next 24-48 hours and will last for next 4 days. Scattered rainfall with thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) very likely over Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh for next 2-3 days. Heatwave conditions may grip pockets of Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Rayalaseema, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal. Andhra’s Kurnool, Nellore, Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada and Amravati districts are expected to witness temperatures ranging from 40-43°C this week. Telangana’s Hyderabad, Mehabubabad and Nalgonda may witness similar temperature trends.
