Heavy Rains to Lash West Bengal, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Goa, and Maharashtra
A low-pressure area off the Goa-Maharashtra coasts is currently situated over the east-central Arabian Sea, off the Maharashtra coast. The associated cyclonic circulation, extending above mean sea level and tilting southwestwards with height, is expected to weaken within the next 12 hours. This mauy cause heavy rainfall Goa and coastal areas of Maharashtra. A low-pressure area that was previously over North Bangladesh has moved westwards and is now positioned over the northern parts of West Bengal and neighboring areas. The associated cyclonic circulation, which extends above mean sea level, is likely to move further west towards Jharkhand over the next 24 hours. This system is anticipated to bring heavy rainfall across the Northeast, with particularly intense downpours expected over Meghalaya and Tripura during the next 24 hours. Heavy rains with thunderstorms are likely over West Bengal, Bihar, Odisha, and Chhattisgarh. A cyclonic circulation is expected to bring heavy to very heavy rainfall along with thunderstorms over Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, and adjoining Rajasthan in the next 2-3 days. Residents in these areas are advised to stay alert and take necessary precautions to avoid any weather-related disruptions. Light to moderate rain is possible over Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, and the western parts of Rajasthan. Moderate to heavy rainfall very likely over Telangana, Karnataka, and Kerala during next 2-3 days.
