Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Maharashtra to Experience Heavy Rainfall
A depression over Rajasthan and adjoining northwest Madhya Pradesh has moved west-southwestwards in the past six hours. As on today , the system was centred over northwest Madhya Pradesh and adjoining east Rajasthan. It is expected to intensify into a deep depression over east Rajasthan within the next 12 hours and continue moving west-southwestwards across south Rajasthan and Gujarat, potentially reaching the northeast Arabian Sea off Saurashtra and Kutch by the morning of August 29th. Very heavy rainfall also very likely over West Madhya Pradesh, northern Gujarat, Goa, South Rajasthan and north Maharashtra during next 1-2 days. A low-pressure area over south Bangladesh is likely to intensify and move west-northwestwards across Gangetic West Bengal, north Odisha, and Jharkhand in the next two days. Light to moderate rainfall is also expected in Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and eastern Madhya Pradesh. Moderate rainfall is expected along the coastal parts of Karnataka, while light rainfall is anticipated in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala. Light to moderated rainfall over Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, North Rajasthan, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. Light rainfall is expected over the northeastern parts of India, with some areas of Arunachal Pradesh likely to receive heavy rainfall.
