Heavy Rainfall Expected in Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, and Andhra Pradesh

The deep depression over Saurashtra & Kachchh and adjoining north Gujarat has moved and is likely to continue its slow west-southwestward movement across the Saurashtra & Kachchh region. By tomorrow morning, it is expected to reach the Saurashtra & Kachchh coast, adjoining areas of Pakistan, and the northeast Arabian Sea. This system may bring heavy to very heavy rainfall over Saurashtra, Kutch, and parts of the Gujarat region. The low-pressure area over northern parts of central Madhya Pradesh and adjoining southern Uttar Pradesh has become less marked, with moderate rainfall expected in these regions. A fresh low-pressure area is likely to form over the east-central and adjoining north Bay of Bengal by the next day. It is projected to move west-northwestwards, approaching the south Odisha and north Andhra Pradesh coasts within the next two days. This system is expected to bring heavy rain to Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and adjoining areas of Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra in next 1-2 days, while Tamil Nadu and Kerala may experience light rainfall. The cyclonic circulation over central Assam may bring rainfall to the northeastern part of India. A Western Disturbance, observed as a cyclonic circulation over north Pakistan and its neighbourhood, is forecasted to remain active until next 1-2 days. This disturbance may bring snow to northwestern Ladakh and light to moderate rainfall over Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, North Rajasthan, Delhi, and western Uttar Pradesh.
