Gujarat, Maharashtra and Rajasthan set to receive heavy rainfall

The depression that originated in the Bay of Bengal and moved inland has weakened into a low-pressure area over southeast Rajasthan and adjoining southwest Madhya Pradesh. Despite this, heavy rainfall is still expected in Gujarat and parts of Madhya Pradesh. A cyclonic circulation is present over Saurashtra and its neighboring areas at middle tropospheric levels. A new low-pressure area is anticipated to develop in the Bay of Bengal in next 1-2 days. While the primary rainfall will occur over the sea, increased rainfall is expected in Odisha, southern Chhattisgarh, Telangana, and northern Andhra Pradesh in the coming days. Heavy rainfall is likely over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Coastal Karnataka, Maharashtra and Telangana. In northern India, light to moderate rainfall is expected, with Rajasthan potentially receiving heavy rainfall. In the next 2-3 days, light to moderate rainfall is forecasted for Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala, and Interior Karnataka. Additionally, fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall is expected over Gangetic West Bengal, Bihar, and Jharkhand throughout the week.
